Today’s inspiration is very simple, tonal, graphical, minimalistic, black and white… and very impressive! And who would imagine that a single black thread can be used to create such an intricate image. These beautiful embroidered art pieces fade away like shadows. And the author of these thread drawings is a British artist Roanna Wells.
One of Roanna’s projects was inspired by gatherings of people as seen from the top. In these artworks a single stitch was used to represent each person in the crowd. When all those stitches come together they create some interesting patterns. And all these crowds of people organizing themselves in groups could be compared to nature, such as stars in the sky, swarms of bees, ants, plants and many more. A very inspiring observation!
