Landscapes of the Soul – Exhibition Opening by Vilmantė Lokcikaitė, 4th of January, 19.00

Landscapes of the Soul exhibition

On the 4th of January, 7 pm, join us for the opening night of Vilmantė Lokcikaitė’s debut exhibition “Landscapes of the Soul”.

Landscapes. The first thing you notice about a place is the landscape. It comes in different forms: vast green fields dotted with curious cows that greet every passerby with their big, big eyes; roads that look like a black and white picture with the grey sky, barren trees and the land free of any living thing; or the place with striking blue skies, blue river, blue ocean and the sun playing the same patterns on the water over and over again. No one is ever a passive observer – if you give it enough time and meet it with the heart that is open, the place seeps into you with its landscapes, its people, its own pace of living.

Soul. It is said that the soul of the image is born on film. And that is what this exhibition is about. It tells film stories about a strange place that, with time, has become not so strange. Its little annoying quirks – not so annoying (most of the time anyway), its sun and its ocean – something that you still try not to take for granted, and it’s people… well, that is a whole other story. Or many stories. Stories, that many books could be envious for. It is about a sunny place that – hopefully – will bring a little bit of sunshine to the Lithuanian winter, too.

The exhibition will run until the 4th of February.

Sausio 4 dieną, 19 valandą, kviečiame į pirmosios Vilmantės Lokcikaitės parodos „Landscapes of the Soul“ atidarymą.

Paroda veiks iki vasario 4 dienos.
