Angela Malik is a unique Deli brand of modern Brit-Asian cuisine, it is named after the owner- Scotland born Indian- Angela Malik. After the successful launch of her first Deli in Acton, London (2006) this year April she opened her second one in Ealing, west London. That’s the one I was visiting and took some photos of the cozy and bright interior. Also later that day I had a cooking class where Angela thought us to cook Dim Sum (read about this on my next post)
This Deli is much more than just sandwiches and coffee. It’s got the philosophy behind it and it is about eating healthy and clean food, and learning to cook that way in evening cooking school.
“It’s no small ambition, but I want to change the way people cook, eat and live. I think we deserve something different and better for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many of us are rushing around without the luxury of time to cook freshly made meals every day, but why should a ready-made meal or take away mean you can’t enjoy healthy, exciting and chef-made food?
My food is all made freshly with top ingredients by our on-site chefs. Our goal is to provide an exciting, tasty and healthy alternative to the soulless high street options currently available.
For me food is a sensory experience. The perfect dishes are a delicate balancing of the five tastes; slightly fiery, a touch of sour tang, with perfectly balanced salt and a touch of sweet, underlying it all the power of bitter or umami.”
